The limestone quarry in the village of Asvestohori (Thessaloniki, Greece),has several mining sites. Different methods of mining were used in each one of them.

At one of these mining sites, I came across workers breaking limestone with sledge hammers. At the same time while this was happening, one could hear the noise from machines breaking limestone at another site of the quarry.

The rubble of lime stones that was created, was to be taken to a kiln and fired to make lime.

I decided to start work at the same time as the workers. I sat at the abandoned site immediately above theirs and with a small blowtorch fired the huge rocks of limestone to create lime. Both workers and I participating in the making of anachronistic labour.

Unexpectedly, the rocks broke in two and a small amount of white lime was made.
